Frequently Asked Questions

Why will franchise companies pay your consulting fees?

Franchise  companies have hundreds of Internet inquiries every month.  Screening  that high number of inquiries requires a large staff of employees to  call and screen the several hundred people who inquire each month to  uncover the 1% who are both interested AND qualified.

More  and more franchise companies have found that it is less expensive to  pay consulting fees than to advertise on the Internet and pay employee  costs to screen inquiries.  Franchise consultants bring to franchise  companies prospective franchisees who are qualified for and interested  in their franchises.

How much money do I need to have to invest in a franchise?

Of  course, the amount of money you need varies directly with the type of  franchise you're interested in, but as a general rule of thumb, you need  to have at least $50,000 in liquid funds and a net worth (what you  own minus what you owe) of at least $300,000.  Meeting those two  requirements will open the door to hundreds of franchise opportunities.

To work with you, do I have to be ready to invest in a franchise right now?

No,  not at all.  In fact, I've worked with clients for over two years  before the times were right for them and we found the right franchise  opportunities.  I'm in no hurry.  That said, the sooner we engage the  franchise consulting process, the better ... don't "self-impose" a delay  in beginning to learn about your options!  You could "give up without  even trying" if you delay.

How do I know you won't simply point me toward the franchise options that pay you the most?

Good question!  There are three very important reasons why I focus on what's right for you rather than the options that pay the most:

  1. THEY ALL PAY ABOUT THE SAME:  Most franchise companies pay just about the same consulting fees.   Consulting fees are pretty much consistent from one franchise to the  next ... it's as though they know the "going rate" and they all stick to  that amount. So, no one franchise pays a great deal more than the  others.
  2. FRANCHISE COMPANIES PAY FOR QUALITY, NOT QUANTITY: Franchise  companies pay consulting fees so they can speak to prospective new  franchisees who have many of the same characteristics as their  top-performing franchisees.  If a franchise consultant doesn't do  his/her work diligently and honestly and refers several clients to a  franchise for which the clients are not genuinely well-suited, that  franchise will cease working with that consultant.
  3. I AM A RETIRED MILITARY OFFICER:   For me, this reason is the most important: I am a retired Air Force  officer and throughout my 24-year career, I adhered to the three core  values of the Air Force ... and I still do:
    1. SERVICE above self
    2. EXCELLENCE in all we do
    3. Above all, INTEGRITY

Can I continue to look for and inquire about franchises on my own while you are my consultant?
Absolutely!  You might want to let me know of franchises you find interesting so I can research them for you.

Am I under any obligation to invest in a franchise if you are my consultant?
Absolutely  NOT!  I serve at your pleasure ... you can discontinue working with me  at any time and for any or no reason.  You and I do NOT sign any binding  agreement together.

What if I already know which franchise I want?  Can you still help me?
Yes, I can help you in two ways:

  1. I  can make sure you understand everything about the franchise you are  interested in and make sure you get all the information you need to make  a fully-informed decision.
  2. I  can show you similar alternative options so you can have the  opportunity to compare and contrast those with the franchise you believe  you want ... it pays to "shop around" before settling on one option,  right?

Can you show me any franchise or just the franchises in your "inventory?"
Yes,  I can show you any franchise.
